Is diversity really key?

Generally, it is true that diversity begets a sound strategy.  However, in terms of the game, might it not also be advantageous to minimize your exposure?  What is the likelihood that your opponent will adopt the same strategy using your anti-armor?  Now I'm not saying to go full-mono, but developing a consistent thread throughout could provide added resiliency.  For example, if you have one common element in all your armors, you could still sport 4 of 5 elements in your quiver of knights.  Maybe mix in a mono if you got a good one.  Play w/ combos of defensive, offensive and balanced armors, not necessarily in that order.  Most of all, post your thoughts here and get the discussion going.
