As far as anyone knows, Moontide is still the only fusable Epic in the game at this time. Without concrete evidence, this claim is purely speculation.
I tried that combo at least 4x w/ both normal and + versions before Epics were removed from the fusion equation. Results: 3 Brawlers and 1 Monk's Vestments (all 2* results). It was possible to get Epics from fusion of two 3* armors, but the odds are not in your favor anymore.
Now that Epics are generally missing from the equation, fusion is not an effective strategy for gaining better armors, although it is still possible. Unfortunately, most of the newly released old Epic Boss Legendary sets as fusion results are inferior to the most recent Epic Boss sets from the last 2 months, and the chance of obtaining a non-craftable legendary set (e.g., Combustion, Guardian's, Blackfrost, among others) is excedingly low.
As far as I'm concerned, the only good use of fusion at this point in time is to generate guaranteed 50EP sets (Flamestorm Finery, Wavecharmer's, Wind Monarch, and Volcanic Mantle) by combining basic elemental armors (fire/air, spirit/water, spirit/air, and fire/earth, respectively) for enhancing ur primary armors at higher levels. All other craftable Rare sets (those obtained from Adventure levels; e.g., Snakeskin, Crius, HydraHunter, etc) are only worth 24EP.
Please post screenshots of fusion results, regardless of combos/results, to better inform the community. The following thread has been a good place to see numerous fusion outcomes... Fusion Results - Screenshots & Proof

Hmm, that's an interesting theory and it makes good sense. By that logic, when the next mono fire Epic is released, then maybe Blazeborne will be fusable again.
The only flaw in this is that I think Moontide was re-released to fusion before Soulshard Necromantle was released. Also, there are currently two air/water Epic armors (Cloudrange and Maelstrom) and neither has been released as a fusalbe result.
If I had to bet, I'd say we'll see a new fusbale Epic in the next few weeks, likely in time for Halloween and probably associated w/ the next Guild Wars. Speculation of course, but I can see the next Epic being a spin-off of the Headless Horseman theme, so a mono fire Epic is a good possibility.
They're going to have to do something b/c I think alot of folks are hoarding legendary sets and holding out for better fusion results; meanwhile, frustration mounts...
I think the reason why Moontide was released as a fusable epic has nothing to do with the fact that a better epic was released around the same time (though the timing is arguable). I think it is because Moontide seem to be an epic in name only (the prototype for its class). The plus version of most boss armors recently are only about 200 points behind the normal Moontide, which costs a fortune more to level to 99 rather then to 70 like the epic boss. With the steady increase in strength of the boss armors, I predict normal moontide will be obsolete in about two months or so.
RoP, I agree. One could argue Swampstone+ is just as good, if not better than Clayplate normal; it's a matter of preference (balanced, defensive, or offensive). Plus, the boss + armors are guaranteed if you put the work into them.
hey all. i fuse ravenlord armor with armor of the wolf and got blazeborne last night. sucked to lose the two legendary, but considering balzeborn is an epic im happy with it. im not sure on the level the two legendary were at either.
Damn it, tried 7+ fusion combos so far and nothing! I won't give up, Blazeborne has always been my favorite looking epic armor and I had been waiting forever for it to become fusable again. I've got a Dark Prince and Swamp shaman cooking in my armorsmiths for tonight and 5 legendary spirit monos for when I can get my hands on some more fire mono legendaries.
Not sure how or if it would improve your odds, but you could try fusing a Fire Fusion Boost w/ one of your air mono armors. I have an air fusion boost and will save it to try w/ a fire boost when I get enough gems for the Gempocalypse bonuses.

Not a bad idea, but still a hefty trade off losing that manty EP points from the FBA's. All possibly for nothing.
Why is this still getting replies? Redstone + and pretty much every epic boss armor after it has been stronger (at level 70) than blazeborne (at level 99)...(Of course except the brilliant monos Chupacabra and Riversteel) Here's a hint. If you get Blazeborne, throw it away. You are better off leveling current epic boss armor and maxing it.
so far no epic boss armor has beaten the blazeborn without guild bonuses, and many people (me for instance) are not srong enough to get eb+ armors, so fusing a blazeborn realy helps players like me. so stop hatin on the blazeborn.
